The original chain stitch is an indispensable detail of high-quality jeans. For an authentic shortening and perfect hem finish, I use the specialized Union Special 33500 G machine. Equipped with a pre-mounted folder, this machine is perfectly suited to restore the hem exactly to its original condition. This preserves the characteristic seam pattern, which creates the coveted, wavy "roping effect" at the hem.
